We wanted to take the opportunity to introduce you to the team so you can get to know them and better understand how you might work with them in the future. In this edition, we’re featuring Lisa Mekkelsen.
Lisa Mekkelsen, Regional Provider Engagement Manager for Idaho, Iowa, Minnesota, Nebraska, North Dakota, South Dakota, Washington, D.C. and Wisconsin
Lisa is a Minnesota native who has been working in health care throughout her career. She started out in health care administration in 1998, working in roles including long-term disability claims and claimant advocacy.
Lisa joined the Provider Engagement Team in 2019 and truly enjoys working with providers and collaborating with internal and external stakeholders. Her goals include focusing on the drive for efficiency and improving provider, member and client experiences.
Family is a priority for Lisa, from raising her two stepchildren to becoming her parents’ caretaker. She also enjoys being the favorite auntie to 10 nieces and nephews.

The goal of the Provider Engagement Team is to help providers successfully navigate the prior authorization process and all that comes with it: the portal, clinical resources, peer-to-peer reviews and reconsideration options, as well as communication with our health plan clients.
